Villa Waldberta - Künstlerresidenz

Die am Starnberger See gelegene Villa Waldberta beherbergt im Rahmen einer Künstlerresidenz seit den frühen 80-er Jahren Künstler aus aller Welt.

Wir hatten die Gelegenheit, einige grundlegende Untersuchungen an einer denkmalgeschützten Villa aus dem Jahr 1902 zu begleiten.

Die Definition des Baustils ermöglicht ein harmonisches Nebeneinander von modernen Interventionen und den verbliebenen Jugendstilelementen im Inneren des Hauses.
Dabei ist der Bezug zur Geschichte, dem gestalterischen Leitmotiv, dem Standort und den heutigen Anforderungen Genüge
zu leisten.

Ursprünglich für die Beratung beim Kauf neuer Möbel und Vorhänge angefragt, diskutierten wir schon währende der ersten Begehung die Möglichkeit einer grundlegenden Renovierung der Innenräume, maßgeblich der Künstlerwohnungen, die gastfreundlicher und lebenswerter gestaltet werden sollen.

During the last months we had the opportunity to accompany them for some basic research on a listed villa from 1902.

The Villa Waldberta, located on the hills above lake Starnberg, is hosting artists from all over the world in the form of an artists residency hosted by the city of Munich since the early 80s after a difficult and turbulent history after the second world war.

Defining the architectural style allows for a harmonious coexistence of modern interventions and the remaining Art Nouveau elements within the interior of the house. In doing so, it is important to appropriately address the building’s history, the guiding design principles, its location, and today’s requirements.

In the beginning, we were asked to advise on the purchase of new furniture and textiles. Without hesitation, we delved into a deeper discussion about fundamental renovation, taking into consideration the needs of the artists living and working there. A great improvement is needed in the interior conditions so they become more hospitable and worth living.
